| 4. Formal Translation And they tore down the altars of the Baals before him, cut down the incense altars that were above them, and broke in pieces the Asherah poles, the carved images, and the cast images, grinding them to dust; then they scattered the dust over the graves of the sacrificers. |
| 4. Dynamic Translation Under his supervision, they demolished the Baals’ worship sites, cut down the elevated incense platforms, and smashed the Asherah poles, the carved figures, and the metal idols, then ground the fragments to powder and scattered them on the graves of the ritual worshipers. |
